ITIL® Update – UPDATE
As you are most probably aware, the ITIL Core is presently undergoing an update. The first review of this update has just been completed with an overwhelmingly positive response. Most of the reviewers (93%) agreed with the scope of the review and agrees that the new publications clarify rather than replace practices described in the current version of ITIL (96%) and all of them agreed that the new publications is easier to read. A second review is now underway after which authors will refine publications based on feedback and it seems that the new books will be available Q3 or Q4 of this year! Jan 2011 (Source OGC website)
COBIT®5 Development is Cooking
The COBIT 5 development is progressing according to plan and an exposure draft (for comment) is expected sometime during Q1. Issues are recognised as areas that COBIT 5 need to address; One ISACA framework (governance, risk value, security, assurance all in one) * Easy migration from COBIT 4.1 * Easy navigation and topical search. * Some areas need to be expanded on e.g., enterprise architecture, people skills, decision making, organisational structures, change enablement and sustainability. * Ensure that governance and management processes integrate both business and IT responsibilities.
